We are back

Hello everyone and happy new year!

It's been a busy couple of months and the blog has suffered for it, however we're back and we have some new bits for this 2015.

So along with lots of information on hotels, rides and things to do, we will be introducing two new pages in the coming weeks.
Amy at a Champagne tasting in Eperney, France, during the Champagne Festival.

Firstly, we have Amy's Eateries

Food lover Amy will be bringing you advice on the best places to eat, the places to avoid as well as advice on where to eat for really special moments. She'll be reviewing some of the most famous park foods as well as the best places to take little ones (and the best places to go without them).
Look out for her new page which will appear soon and please feel free to ask her any questions you would like answering.

We are also introducing Lauren.

Fashion student and industry worker Lauren will be answering all of your holiday questions. What should you wear? What should you pack? And, most importantly, where can you buy it? She'll be posting about where you can get Disney or theme park inspired outfits and what things you definitely need to take to the parks. Lauren will also be looking at the best looks for your little prince or princess as well some inspired looks for adults too.

So with new pages in the workings and plenty of new stuff to come we hope you love the Disney Holiday Blog this year.

If you have any questions or would like advice, please let us know in the comments or via email and we'll be happy to help!

Lets Get Started - Why Should I Go To Disney?

So, I want to start with one of the most important things.

Why should you go to Disney?
It can be expensive. It can be a long way to travel. I want to help you to make an informed decision about prices and where is best for you but first, why should you go to Disney?

I have children. Why should I go to Disney?

Why shouldn't you go to Disney? (Ok, so there are probably many reasons...but, let's look at reasons you absolutely should be going!)

Memories. Disney is one of those places you can watch your kids dreams come true. You can get plenty of amazing photos (and memories) of them meeting their favorite characters and experiencing things for the first time. The parades are immersing and there is plenty to keep children entertained. Take them on Thunder Mountain for the first time and watch their faces light up. It's a holiday that really brings people together.

Rides. You can't think of Disney without thinking about the rides. Disney has a huge mix here, ranging from the mildest of thrills such as the Carousel and  the iconic Dumbo ride, medium thrills such as Big Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain and even more daring rides such as Space Mountain and Terror Tower. No matter how old or tall your kids are, there is something for everyone. Don't want to queue? No problem. Fastpass is free to all guests.

Celebrations. Disney is a great way to celebrate any occasion, and, if you let them know they'll even help you make it extra special. It could be something small like a birthday button (So the characters and cast members can wish you a Happy Birthday) or something more special like an in-room celebration or a cake. They really have this element down.

Firsts. It's a great place to get children to try things for the first time. The restaurants have expansive menus for children so you don't need to worry about forcing them onto a staple diet of chicken nuggets and beans. Get them to try something new! How about meeting their first character or getting their first autograph? Their first ride. It's really special and the moment is something you'll treasure forever. You can even let them have their first makeovers (Bibbity-Bobbity Boutique) or get their first haircut in the park. There is so much for them to experience, it's unreal.

I don't have children. Why should I go to Disney?

There is a lot in Disney for people of all ages. One of the best things about the parks is that they can appeal to people of all ages. There's plenty to do on resort too.

So, what can you do?

Big Rides. There are some bigger rides which might not be suitable for children (Rock and Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror) which can be enjoyed if you're travelling kid free. You might also find you get through the queues faster without a large party which is an added bonus.

Shopping. Disney has some amazing shops. They have everything from nostalgic, awe inspiring stores to little boutiques with fashion items. They have sports shops. They have food shops. They have an all year round Christmas shops. What more do you want? Clothing? You got it. Accessories? Check. Jewelry? Of course! So, if you don't have someone tugging on your arm and you like to spend time in the stores, it's amazing.

Food. Now, WDW has this section down. EPCOT alone has some fantastic dining options. You can literally drink yourself around the world (showcase, that is.) Beer in Germany? Champagne in France? How about a tequila flight in Mexico? How about sampling the food from 11 different countries? Snacks, alcohol, fine dining, it's all right there.

Characters. You don't need to be a kid to meet your favorite Disney characters. Why not go take a selfie with Snow White? Get some pictures with Pluto? Or how about having your profile picture taken with the world's most famous mouse? You'd be surprised how many adults enjoy this and why not? You don't need to be young to be young at heart.

Ambiance. This is something that you can't get anywhere else in the world. The air feels like it's been filled with magic and you'll feel like a child again. Even if you don't watch the parades or fireworks, you can get a pretty good buzz off other people. It really is the happiest place on earth. You don't even need to be in the parks to feel it. The amazing atmosphere stretches across the hotels, water parks and the downtown area - you really need to experience it to understand.

There is more than Disney - Yes! Disney parks are amazing, but they aren't alone. Travelling to France? Why not find out what the City of Love has to offer. Going over to Orlando? There are so many theme parks and attractions here you'd need multiple trips to cover it all. I'll expand on other things to do in another post.

So, what now?

Over the next few days I'll be expanding the blog to cover the above points in detail, so if you hang fire I'll get them up as soon as I can.
If there is something you want to see soon, please let me know in the comments!

Thanks,

Anna out :)

Welcome!

Hey Everyone!

Welcome to my blog! At the request of my friends I am setting this up to help people who are travelling to Disney World in Orlando or Disneyland Paris.

I'm hoping to have lots of useful stuff on here, so please put up with me whilst I get everything set up. I've a few features in mind but if there is anything you would like to see or know about, do let me know. I want to create a one-stop-shop for people wanting information!

On that note,
